12. Raw Juice fast

Thursday night I began a 3 day juice fast. For the first day I made a carrot base juice with kale. The second day was was carrot with celery and parsley and the third day was carrot and dandelion greens. Because of a previous juice fast which did not have good results for me due to the fact that when I am on a fast my digestion stops therefore elimination stops. So this time I decided to to enemas while on the juice fast. Twice a day morning and evening to help clear out the intestines so that there is no reabsorbing of toxins into my system. I was also taking a list of supplements four times a day while on the juice fast which I will continue to take even after the the fast. This is the list of supplements:

herbal laxatives      2 tablets  twice a day
Bensonite clay      1 tablespoon twice a day
fish oil                  1 cap twice a day
NAC                     1 cap twice a day
Multi-vitamin           2 caps twice a day
Vitamin D              1 tablet twice a day
Digestive enzymes   1 cap twice a day
Vitamin C              1000mg four times a day
Wheat germ oil      1 cap four times a day
Niacin                   50mg four times a day
Alfalfa              8 tablets four times a day
I also have been adding liquid chlorophyll to all the water I have been drinking. The results have been mediocre. I was expecting much more by this time. When I began the fast on Thursday night my skin was still flaking some, pale, not very itchy, over all pretty good considering I have been on an all vegetable and fruit diet for the past 3 weeks. Some small spots were also disappearing which had me thinking that this is helping me. Here is what I have discovered. On the first day of the fast I was taking my myasthenia meds normally. 90 mg Mestinon 4 times a day. On the on the first day of the fast I missed the last dose. I did not think it was a big deal since I was seeing a difference in my breathing. It had been better the past few days. Also weakness was at a minimum, so much so that i was able to go for a mile walk two days in a row. On the second day I decided to purposely lower the dose and I took 60mg 4 times a day. On the third day I not only could tell a deference in my breathing and overall body weakness but it was also affecting my skin ( raised and itch skin but not very red or angry). I am not certain how the myasthenia is doing this but it is. I had noticed this on previous experiments I was doing but I was not certain. Now I am positive that the myasthenia is contributing to the psoriasis and possibly to the psoriatic arthritis. Today Sunday April 1st 2012 I will be taking myasthenia meds as prescribed and will keep an up-date on the psoriasis over the next few days.  I will continue the all fruit and vegetable diet as I see that it is helping and controlling many of the symptoms. As I break the fast I will have some blended fruit today and for dinner I will have some tofu for added protein which I feel I need.

11. Still going strong

Day 18 and still going strong. Have not been able to post more often because I do not have Internet connection. Been doing a mix of all vegetable and fruit for the past 18 days with the exception of some quinoa  in my soups because I need some extra protein. It does not seem to be bothering me. I have also added plantain to the diet. I roast it in the oven and I get to have something crunchy which I have been craving. I am still in Florida where the whether is between 80-85 degrees. The weather seems to be helping much with the psoriatic pain. I have not had any pain at all for the last 3 days. Skin is much better, not red at all, very pale and two small spots I had on my arm are gone completely. I am feeling so good that today I am thinking of going for a walk to try to get some exercise. Weakness from the myasthenia is at a minimum. The only thing thta is concerning me at this time is that I am still not going to the bathroom as well as I would like to and i still see mucus in the stool. I have bought some supplies from the local health food store and I will be trying something out in the next few days. I will post this weekend my results.

10. One week in the US

I have been in the USA for a week now and in Florida for the past couple of days. The weather here seems to agree with my body. My skin is the best I have seen it in several months. Have been very disciplined with my diet having lots of raw veggies and some fruit. Cooked vegetables mostly in the form of soup. Not really keeping track of specific food items, just basically eating from my good list.  Have had the opportunity to eat some things that I can't find in Greece like asparagus and watermelon in March, LOL. I will need to see if I have a bad reaction to those, I don't think so. I will post any new findings.

Update  on illnesses
When I first arrived in Florida (Wednesday) my breathing was very weak and shallow causing low blood pressure and light headedness. Skin was improving from the bad stuff I had eaten on the flight from Greece, but it was still red, itchy and flaking. Pain in my joints was pretty intense as well. Today I have to say I see a major improvement with everything. Skin is not as red itchy and flaking, best its been in months. Dido for the joint pain. Breathing is slightly better then Wednesday, would like for that to improve some more.

I will update again in a few days.

9. Fresh start...again.

Saturday March 10th, 2012

After a couple of days of travelling I have finally arrived in the USA. The trip of course was long and I had a lay over in a foreign country with a disastrous dietary result. I don't think I need to explain to anyone what air plane food is like. I am planing yet another trip to Florida in a few days but I believe that will be easier since I will be driving it there and not on a plane. I will be much more prepared to handle that then what I have been through in the past couple of days. Today, Saturday, was the beginning of my all veggie and all fruit diet once again. I am determined to make it past the 15 day mark this time. I believe with the health food stores and even the extra variety of produce in the super markets that exist here, this should be much easier to do. Today has been a day of salads and fruit. Later on I will have some veggie soup and will have some tofu because I have not been getting enough protein. I also need to get creative with some recipes because salads are getting a bit boring.

8. Setback

Tuesday March 6th, 2012

I have had a set back. In the past few days I have been very stressed and emotionally down trying to get things done for my trip to the US. My skin reacted immediately to the stress even though I was doing very well on my raw diet. It became very red and thick and itchy. I became so frustrated that I gave into the diet and had some fish with potato for lunch yesterday and for dinner....pizza. It is amazing how food becomes such an emotional crutch. I t felt so good, especially after the pizza. I have not had pizza for over 3 months. So this morning I got up and started right back on my diet having a big salad for breakfast trying not to think of the aftermath that awaits me in a couple of days. I am however starting to think more on trying to control my stress and emotional ups and downs because I believe in the longrun it will help me more then the diet.  As soon as I am in the US I will be starting some deep breathing exercises and try out some guided meditations to see how those work. Until then I will keep the diet going with cooked, raw veggies and a small amount of fruit.

7. Veggies only

March 1st, 2012
I am on day 12 of this diet thing.  Just came back home today after being in Athens for a bit. The past few days I have been doing all raw fruits and vegetables. Starting today I have eliminated all fruit as well. I am trying to follow the PH miracle diet.  So today was a day of huge salads. Romain lettuce with cucumber, onion, very little carrot, ginger, parsley and avocado topped with lemon and oil. This is what I have been trying to do for a long time. It's been difficult for me to get to this point. Now I need to keep this up for a while and see what happens.

Disease update
Skin is looking very pale and less raised then the past few days. Joints are still painful, I think maybe because of an unusually cold winter in Greece. Lungs are still producing mucus but breathing was less shallow today. Also did not feel as weak as I have been in the past week. Overall I would say there is an improvement but nothing I have not been able to accomplish before. So as it stands I am not in new territory yet.

It has been all raw all day, a variety of lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, onion, carrot. Dry figs, banana, orange, pear, grapefruit & kiwi . Not bad for someone addicted to food.
the following is a list of the foods I know I can have and also a list of what I can't have. Blueberries will be going onto the bad list as I can see that I have had a reaction to them.

Disease update
Overall doing OK considering the small set back from the blueberries.( had similar results with strawberries a few weeks ago). Skin was a bit raised and started to flake but I would not say it was a full on flare up because it did not become very red. Skin is still pale. Joints are hurting less even though it is very humid and raining outside. Lungs are stable with very little mucus production. Stll feel a bit weaker then I would like. I need to up the amount of protein I am taking in. If I was home I would juice a bunch of stuff to get proper intake of protein but I will not be home until Thursday.
